The eyes of the world remain on the small nation as Western economic powers levy sanctions against its much larger aggressor. The ramifications of the conflict are significant for both countries. Financial markets across the globe, too, are feeling the sting.

While many stocks are being pushed down, the oil and gas sector is enjoying a ride to the top. Crude oil prices are nearing $100 per barrel, pushing up many oil stocks. These prices haven’t reached triple digits since 2014.

Russia is one of the world’s largest oil and gas exporters. For the countries that rely on its supplies, these sanctions could mean trouble. As theWashington Postreports, much of Europe is dependent on Russian exports for heating homes and industrial buildings. Ryan Fitzmaurice, a commodity strategist at Rabobankrecently speculatedthat further disruptions in Russia’s oil supply chain could indeed send prices up even further.

For as long as prices continue to rise, though, oil stocks will continue to benefit. Let’s take a closer look at the oil stocks to buy as the conflict persists.

ConocoPhillips

Devon Energy

Enbridge

Oil Stocks to Buy: ConocoPhillips

Source: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.com

One of America’s leading oil and gas producers, ConocoPhillips has already been hailed among the potential winners of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Based on production and proved reserves, itbills itselfas the world’s largest independent exploration and production (E&P) company. Its holdings expand across 14 countries, encompassing much of Europe and parts of the Middle East. As InvestorPlace contributor Josh Enomotodescribes, ConocoPhillips is “one of the biggest oil stocks levered to the upstream component of the energy supply chain.”

Oil companies built around an upstream approach are considered the top of their field. Enomoto notes that upstream oil stocks can sometimes carry more risk. While that is true, ConocoPhillips is still an established industry leader, making it a “balanced” bet for the category. In September 2021, Enomoto named COP to a list of oil stocks to buy for anyone who believed that barrels would hit a $100 price target. Months later, we are about to see exactly that happen. ConocoPhillips’ recent performance indicates that its place on the list was well deserved.

As oil prices have risen throughout the past six months, COP stock has increased by more than 60%. For as long as the current oil boom persists, it will remain among the winners.

Devon Energy

Source: Jeff Whyte / Shutterstock.com

Another consistent winner of the American oil boom, DVN has enjoyed a better season so far than many of its larger peers such as COP and Chevron. The Oklahoma-based company is primarily focused on the hydrocarbon exploration business. It has enjoyed bullish action since its reported earnings for the fourth quarter beat analyst expectations.

AsInvestorPlacecontributor Joel Baglole recently reported, this impressive start to the year saw several Wall Street institutions raise their price targets on DVN stock including Credit Suisse. “With proven oil reserves of 752 million barrels, Devon Energy is well-positioned to perform strongly,” Baglole wrote.

That assessment is well supported by DVN stock’s performance.

Shares have risen by more than 94% over the past six months. Enomoto also named it as an oil stock to buy for bulls who saw prices reaching the $100 target. He noted that Devon’s domestic focus would likely prove advantageous if geopolitical conflicts were to become a factor for oil markets. The performance that we’ve seen from DVN stock since then lends considerable support to his argument.

Investors are looking for oil plays close to home as tensions worsen overseas. Devon will likely be a tempting investment, as it should be.

Enbridge

Source: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.com

Earlier this month, Market Watch reported that analysts were favoring Canadian oil producers. One name that stands out among the country’s growing field is Enbridge.

Based in Calgary, this company has carved out an impressive market share. In addition to its pipelines, Enbridge also boasts operations in natural gas utility operations. What some may not know, though, is that the company is responsible for transporting more than one-quarter of North America’s crude oil production. This means it moves more than 30% of the continent’s crude oil and as well as almost 20% of the United States’ natural gas. These prices haven’t reached triple digits since 2014.Russia is one of the world’s largest oil and gas exporters. Let’s take a closer look at the oil stocks to buy as the conflict persists.ConocoPhillips Devon EnergyEnbridgeOil Stocks to Buy: ConocoPhillips Source: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.comOne of America’s leading oil and gas producers, ConocoPhillips has already been hailed among the potential winners of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.Based on production and proved reserves, itbills itselfas the world’s largest independent exploration and production (E&P) company. Its holdings expand across 14 countries, encompassing much of Europe and parts of the Middle East. As InvestorPlace contributor Josh Enomotodescribes, ConocoPhillips is “one of the biggest oil stocks levered to the upstream component of the energy supply chain.”Oil companies built around an upstream approach are considered the top of their field. For as long as the current oil boom persists, it will remain among the winners.Devon EnergySource: Jeff Whyte / Shutterstock.comAnother consistent winner of the American oil boom, DVN has enjoyed a better season so far than many of its larger peers such as COP and Chevron. The Oklahoma-based company is primarily focused on the hydrocarbon exploration business. It has enjoyed bullish action since its reported earnings for the fourth quarter beat analyst expectations.AsInvestorPlacecontributor Joel Baglole recently reported, this impressive start to the year saw several Wall Street institutions raise their price targets on DVN stock including Credit Suisse. “With proven oil reserves of 752 million barrels, Devon Energy is well-positioned to perform strongly,” Baglole wrote. That assessment is well supported by DVN stock’s performance.Shares have risen by more than 94% over the past six months. Enomoto also named it as an oil stock to buy for bulls who saw prices reaching the $100 target. He noted that Devon’s domestic focus would likely prove advantageous if geopolitical conflicts were to become a factor for oil markets. The performance that we’ve seen from DVN stock since then lends considerable support to his argument.Investors are looking for oil plays close to home as tensions worsen overseas. Devon will likely be a tempting investment, as it should be.EnbridgeSource: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.comEarlier this month, Market Watch reported that analysts were favoring Canadian oil producers. One name that stands out among the country’s growing field is Enbridge.Based in Calgary, this company has carved out an impressive market share. Enbridge is also interested in renewable energy, and its assets include a wind portfolio. As oil pipelines across Europe are compromised by the sanctions imposed on Russia, both prices and demand will increase for U.S. and Canada-based producers. InvestorPlace contributor Tezcan Gecgil recently named ENB as an investment to guard against rising inflation. While her argument still holds true, the current boom is an even more pressing reason for it to be listed among oil stocks to buy. It should absolutely be on the radar of any investor looking for bullish plays on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1662,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":638406056,"gmtCreate":1645458791204,"gmtModify":1645458824414,"author":{"id":"3557059841248518","authorId":"3557059841248518","name":"manekineko","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2621e2547da4dc7e450da498cd2e8341","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557059841248518","authorIdStr":"3557059841248518"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/638406056","repostId":"2213983160","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1611,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":638234537,"gmtCreate":1645336363912,"gmtModify":1645336364145,"author":{"id":"3557059841248518","authorId":"3557059841248518","name":"manekineko","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2621e2547da4dc7e450da498cd2e8341","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557059841248518","authorIdStr":"3557059841248518"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/638234537","repostId":"2212567482","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1866,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":638642401,"gmtCreate":1645272751409,"gmtModify":1645272752113,"author":{"id":"3557059841248518","authorId":"3557059841248518","name":"manekineko","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2621e2547da4dc7e450da498cd2e8341","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557059841248518","authorIdStr":"3557059841248518"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/638642401","repostId":"1169107504","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1839,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":638847366,"gmtCreate":1645192367618,"gmtModify":1645192367863,"author":{"id":"3557059841248518","authorId":"3557059841248518","name":"manekineko","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2621e2547da4dc7e450da498cd2e8341","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557059841248518","authorIdStr":"3557059841248518"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/638847366","repostId":"2212616553","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1488,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":638376109,"gmtCreate":1645100370020,"gmtModify":1645100370186,"author":{"id":"3557059841248518","authorId":"3557059841248518","name":"manekineko","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2621e2547da4dc7e450da498cd2e8341","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557059841248518","authorIdStr":"3557059841248518"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/638376109","repostId":"2212139206","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2212139206","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1645093528,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2212139206?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-02-17 18:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"5 Stocks To Watch For February 17, 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2212139206","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:","content":"

Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

Wall Street expects US Foods Holding Corp. to report quarterly earnings at $0.39 per share on revenue of $7.65 billion before the opening bell. Declines in shares of banks JPMorgan Chase & Co and Goldman Sachs Group weighed on the blue-chip index.\nFinancials dropped 1.3%, most among S&P 500 sectors, as U.S. Treasury yields fell, with the market unwinding expectations of quicker Fed rate hikes a day after the central bank signaled it was in no hurry to do so.\n“The growth side of the market is seeing more positive results today as they are benefiting from the falling yields that are developing,” said Matthew Miskin, co-chief investment strategist at John Hancock Investment Management.\n“The market had been positioning for higher yields in general given the Fed announcement of tapering. As we walked in today, there has been a reversal in that.”\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 33.35 points, or 0.09%, to 36,124.23, the S&P 500 gained 19.49 points, or 0.42%, to 4,680.06 and the Nasdaq Composite added 128.72 points, or 0.81%, to 15,940.31.\nThe S&P 500 growth index rose 1.2% while the S&P 500 value index fell 0.5%.\nAmong S&P 500 sectors, tech and consumer discretionary led the way, both rising about 1.5%.\nQualcomm shares jumped 12.7% as the company forecast better-than-expected profits and revenue for its current quarter on soaring demand for chips used in phones, cars and other internet-connected devices.\nThe Philadelphia SE Semiconductor index climbed 3.5%, with Nvidia soaring 12%.\nBetter-than-expected third-quarter earnings have helped lift sentiment for equities. With about 420 companies having reported, S&P 500 earnings are expected to have climbed 41.2% in the third quarter from a year earlier, according to Refinitiv IBES.\n“The corporate earnings story remains quite bright,” said Craig Fehr, investment strategist at Edward Jones.\n“The market is rewarding companies that are beating and upping their outlook, and the market is punishing companies that are missing their estimates in the quarter and more importantly, perhaps, signaling a more sour outlook.”\nModerna shares tumbled about 18% as the company slashed the 2021 sales forecast for its COVID-19 vaccine by as much as $5 billion, grappling to fill vials and distribute them to meet unprecedented world demand. Moderna shares weighed on the S&P 500 healthcare sector, which fell 0.8%.\nData showed the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell to the lowest level in nearly 20 months last week, suggesting the economy was regaining momentum. Investors will get a critical view of the economy with the monthly jobs report on Friday.\nDeclining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 1.12-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.24-to-1 ratio favored decliners.\nThe S&P 500 posted 75 new 52-week highs and five new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 224 new highs and 38 new lows.\nAbout 11.3 billion shares changed hands in U.S. exchanges, above the 10.4 billion daily average over the last 20 sessions.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":108,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":841044916,"gmtCreate":1635865340881,"gmtModify":1635865341001,"author":{"id":"3557059841248518","authorId":"3557059841248518","name":"manekineko","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2621e2547da4dc7e450da498cd2e8341","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3557059841248518","authorIdStr":"3557059841248518"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[财迷] ","listText":"[财迷] ","text":"[财迷]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":10,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/841044916","repostId":"1106703730","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1106703730","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1635863476,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1106703730?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-11-02 22:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Pharmaceutical stocks climbed in morning trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1106703730","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Pharmaceutical stocks climbed in morning trading.Novavax,BioNTech SE,Lilly,Pfizer,Moderna,AstraZenec","content":"
Pharmaceutical stocks climbed in morning trading.Novavax,BioNTech SE,Lilly,Pfizer,Moderna,AstraZeneca,Johnson & Johnson rose between 1% and 5%.
\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; What do you think will happen if those targets get pushed even higher when it reports third-quarter results later this month?
\n
Despite a stock that has popped nearly sixfold since the start of 2019, Crocs is reasonably priced given its accelerating growth. AMC Entertainment
\n
You may be surprised to find the country's leading multiplex operator on this list, but plot twists are what make movies so good. It's certainly true that AMC Entertainment has appreciated -- in terms of both stock price and a fivefold explosion in shares outstanding -- to the point where its valuation is out of whack relative to its peers'. No company has seen its market cap inflate as much as AMC has this year, but this is also a stock that enters the fourth quarter with a stock price that is a little more than half of what it was when it peaked in June. In short, it would have to double from here to revisit its all-time high -- but isn't that always possible with the poster child for 2021 momentum stocks?
\n
Fundamentally speaking, the catalysts are also there.Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsshattered box office records over Labor Day weekend, but the initial excitement fizzled out when subsequent weekends were abysmal. However, it's all about the pipeline. Studios pushed out September releases into October and beyond when the delta variant resulted in a spike in COVID-19 cases. We're now seeing the highly anticipated films start to come back, starting with the new James Bond movie next weekend. The fourth quarter should be a lot stronger for the industry than the naysayers think, and if AMC stock gets back to where it was in early June -- fundamentally earned this time -- it will have to double from here.
\n
3. Its shares should keep climbing.

The postpandemic world hasn’t been easy for the beverage maker. While the S&P 500 long ago regained its pre-Covid highs, Coca-Cola (ticker: KO) finished 2021 up 8% at $59.21, still a touch below its all-time high of $60.13 reached on Feb. 21, 2021 (although above its dividend-adjusted high of $56.36). Adding to the disappointment, shares of PepsiCo (PEP) soared above their 2020 highs and finished 2021 up 17%.

What a difference a new year makes. Coca-Cola has had a rip-roaring start to 2021, gaining 1.9% to close the first week of January at $60.33, finally busting through to a new high. It’s also outpaced Pepsi, which gained just 0.2% this past week. Don’t be surprised if that outperformance continues.

Coca-Cola had plenty of headwinds following the onset of the pandemic. It relies on restaurants and other venues for a larger portion of its sales than Pepsi, and it was also shuttering smaller brands like Tab, Zico coconut water, and Odwalla, as well as some regional brands, over the course of the year. Adding to the disappointment, shares of PepsiCo (PEP) soared above their 2020 highs and finished 2021 up 17%.What a difference a new year makes. Coca-Cola has had a rip-roaring start to 2021, gaining 1.9% to close the first week of January at $60.33, finally busting through to a new high. It’s also outpaced Pepsi, which gained just 0.2% this past week. Don’t be surprised if that outperformance continues.Coca-Cola had plenty of headwinds following the onset of the pandemic. It relies on restaurants and other venues for a larger portion of its sales than Pepsi, and it was also shuttering smaller brands like Tab, Zico coconut water, and Odwalla, as well as some regional brands, over the course of the year. Nor does the beverage titan have the enormous snack business of Pepsi’s Frito-Lay.All this, however, should make 2022 a better year for Coca-Cola, writes Guggenheim analyst Laurent Grandet, who upgraded the stock to Buy from Neutral this past Tuesday.
