(INTC) investors over the past few years.</p>\n<p>It seems like every time the sun comes out...there is another storm right around the corner.</p>\n<p>As highlighted on the earnings call last night, the next \"storm\" brewing for Intel is continued supply chain issues (component shortages in the PC business) and reduced near-term profitability from rising capital expenditure needs, which has sent the stock plummeting 11% this morning into the abyss.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5bd612f6f25b6e86d7a72b38440d513f\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"449\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p>\n<p>However, buying the dips has actually been pretty lucrative in the recent past...if, of course, you were lucky enough to fade the rallies.</p>\n<p>To be fair, Intel has had its fair share of challenges this year, despite general tailwinds in the industry (i.e., chip demand far outpacing supply).</p>\n<p>Specifically, Intel has had some well-documented manufacturing blunders that have caused major delays and loss of some market share...mainly to Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).</p>\n<p>This has triggered concern amongst investors that the stock may be a potential \"value trap\" now.</p>\n<p>All that said, Intel is dedicated to spending $25 billion to $28 billion in 2022 and just broke ground on some new fabs.</p>\n<p>Personally, I don't think we are anywhere near peak demand for chips and I believe that Intel's fabrication capabilities are (and will continue to be) a huge advantage for the company for years to come.</p>\n<p>So how can we structure a trade to take advantage of the upside potential in the stock (after this pullback) while also protecting ourselves from more near-term downside (if any)?</p>\n<p><b>It's a perfect situation for a \"Triple Play\" trade!</b></p>\n<p>Intel Corp.</p>\n<p><b>Sector/Industry:</b>Technology/Semiconductors</p>\n<blockquote>\n Intel is the world's largest chipmaker. It designs and manufactures microprocessors for the global personal computer and data center markets. Intel pioneered the x86 architecture for microprocessors. It was the prime proponent of Moore's Law for advances in semiconductor manufacturing, though the firm has recently faced manufacturing delays. While Intel's server processor business has benefited from the shift to the cloud, the firm has also been expanding into new adjacencies as the personal computer market has stagnated. These include areas such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and automotive. Intel has been active on the merger and acquisitions front, acquiring Altera, Mobileye, and Habana Labs in order to bolster these efforts in non-PC arenas.\n</blockquote>\n<p><i>Source: YCharts</i></p>\n<p><b>Valuation/Upside Potential</b></p>\n<p>Intel looks extremely attractive from a valuation standpoint and is currently trading at a decent discount to all of its long-term valuation metrics (hence the high Value Ranking of 10).</p>\n<p>Specifically, Intel is trading at a nice discount to its historical P/E multiple on a forward basis (10.6x 2021 earnings).<i>Note that the company actually just increased its guidance for fiscal 2021 earnings to $5.28 per share</i>.</p>\n<p>That said, as supply chain worries decrease over time, we definitely think there could be some room for margin expansion in the future.</p>\n<p>If you put just a 12x-14x multiple on consensus forward earnings of $5.28 per share for FYE 2021, that would equate to a $63.00- $73.00 stock price (representing 25%-45% upside from current levels).</p>\n<p>Although it probably won't get there in a straight line...</p>\n<p><b>\"Triple Play\" Trade Analysis</b></p>\n<p>A \"Triple Play\" trade involves simultaneously selling a cash-secured put and a covered call on a stock that you own.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7e3af23e0208929d569a6e62a12a9607\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"360\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"><span>Source: Option Income Advisor</span></p>\n<p>Note that if you don't currently own INTC stock, you will want to buy it before you write the covered call.</p>\n<p>This trade will allow you to take advantage of the upside potential in the stock while also protecting some of the near-term downside (if any).</p>\n<p><b>Step 1: Sell Cash-Secured Puts (50% of position size)</b></p>\n<p>The first step of the Triple Play trade is to sell a cash-secured put on the stock for 50% of your target position size. For example, if you wanted to own 400 shares of INTC... you would sell 2 cash-secured put contract, which represents 200 shares of stock.</p>\n<p>The three main data points we look at when analyzing a cash-secured put trade are:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Premium Yield % (or Average Monthly Yield %): Measure of expected return on capital assuming that the option expires worthless (out-of-the-money).<i>Assumes that the option is fully cash secured.</i></li>\n <li>Margin-of-Safety %: Measure of downside protection or the percentage that the underlying stock could decline and would still allow you to break even on the option trade.</li>\n <li>Delta: A good proxy for the probability that the put option will finish in-the-money.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><i>Note that there's always a negative correlation between Premium Yield and Margin of Safety: The higher the Premium Yield for a given strike month, the lower the Margin of Safety.</i></p>\n<p><i>Investors always should be honest with themselves about their risk tolerance. Selling CSPs can be adapted to suit your needs.</i></p>\n<p>As discussed in the video, we like the $45.00-$50.00 range for INTC in the near term. So we like the following cash-secured put:</p>\n<p><i><b>INTC Nov 19th $47.50.00 Put (28 days until expiration)</b></i></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Option Premium: ~$0.58 premium</li>\n <li>Average Monthly Yield %: 1.3% (15.6% annualized)</li>\n <li>Margin-of-Safety %: 4.2%</li>\n <li>Delta: 28</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Step 2: Buy the Stock (50% of position size)</b></p>\n<p><i>Note: At the time of publication, INTC was trading at $49.60. If you already own the stock, you can skip to Step 3.</i></p>\n<p>The second step of the Triple Play is to buy the stock (50% of your target position size). For example, if you wanted to own 400 shares of INTC... you would buy 200 shares of stock.</p>\n<p><b>Step 3: Sell Covered Calls On Your Stock Position (*optional*)</b></p>\n<p>A covered call strategy will help generate some short-term income, maintain some upside exposure, and mitigate some downside risk.</p>\n<p>With a covered call, you are agreeing to sell your stock at a higher price (your call option strike price) but you get to keep your call option premium either way.</p>\n<p>As discussed in the video, since we like the upside potential in the near term with INTC, you will want to give yourself some room for the stock to run.<b>So we would actually recommend waiting for the stock to trade a little higher before selling covered calls.</b></p>\n<p>That said, if you wanted to execute the covered calls today, I would certainly consider taking less premium income to preserve more potential upside profit. For example, the $53.00 call would give you an extra 0.5% of income per month (6.0% annualized)...which would essentially triple your dividend yield on the stock!</p>\n<p><i><b>INTC Nov 19th $53.00 Call (28 days until expiration)</b></i></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Option Premium: ~$0.25 premium</li>\n <li>Average Monthly Yield %: 0.5% (6.0% annualized)</li>\n <li>Upside Profit %: 7.4%</li>\n <li>Delta: 15</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Conclusion</b></p>\n<p>This Triple Play trade will allow you to take advantage of the upside potential in INTC stock while also giving you some downside cushion if shares trade lower in the near term. Patil.“Lots of upside potential still left ahead,” Patil wrote in a recent note.Match, which owns Tinder and several other dating websites, reported a robust earnings report in early may where it beat on revenue.“Tinder is continuing its momentum, and non-Tinder brands are crushing expectations, reaching a new record of 30% y/y growth in 1Q,” he said.Even as shares are down about 8.7% this year and have struggled under the weight of the pandemic, Patil said investors should stick with the stock.“We see MTCH as one of the strongest business franchises in the Internet sector, believe a likely second-half recovery should be a strong tail wind and would recommend taking advantage of the recent dip in the shares,” he wrote.It should be no surprise then, Patil added, that Match revenue continues to accelerate, especially as consumers reenter society.“MTCH noted that momentum is continuing across the portfolio, partially driven by the vaccine rollouts, particularly in the U.S.,” the firm wrote.Simon Property GroupA strong recovery is finally in sight for the beleaguered real estate investment trust and owner of malls and outlet centers, Piper Sandler analyst Alexander Goldfarb wrote in a recent note.The firm raised its price target on Simon to a Street high price target of $150 per share from $130 after the company reported strong first-quarter earnings in May.“All in all, the strong 1Q21 beat and guidance increase, from a team known to be conservative, bodes well for the balance of this year into next,” he said.Additionally, March sales were back to 2019 levels and that should give investors confidence that more foot traffic is just around corner, Goldfarb said.“As the return to normalcy accelerates, we expect the retail landscape to continue its robust rebound, especially into a mask-free 2021 holiday season,” he said.Goldfarb also predicted that consumers may see a familiar face return to Simon malls as it gets closer to December.“This even opens the door for a return of Santa in-person for the holidays, which further showcases the importance of the mall within the consumer landscape,” Goldfarb said.Shares of Simon are up about 55% this year.AudacyInvestors should buy the dip in shares of the broadcast and website radio platform company, Wells Fargo analyst Steven Cahall said in a note to clients.The company, formerly known as To the contrary, <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> trader is seeing short opportunities in not only the Nasdaq, but it's biggest component, Apple (AAPL).</p><p>Tech stocks have been lagging the Dow and S&amp;P 500 this year, but JC Parets, founder of allstarcharts.com, explains to Yahoo Finance Live that this phenomenon stretches back to the end of the second quarter of 2020.</p><p>\"The underperformance started [on] Labor Day last year at the end of the summer, and that's when they all peaked ... Amazon has done nothing since then. It's not just tech [stocks], it's really big growth [stocks] and even small cap growth [stocks]. Growth in general peaked at the end of last summer — Apple, Amazon (AMZN), all of them on a relative basis.\"</p><p>The two biggest outperforming S&amp;P 500 sectors this year are energy and financials. The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) is up 38% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) is up 26% year-to-date. Parets says, \"[T]he big winners have been coming out of value [stocks] ... Financials, Berkshire [Hathaway], energy ... Those have been the winners. The losers have been the growth stocks.\"</p><h2>2021 is not 2020</h2><p>Parets also notes the different market environment this year compared to last year — a phenomenon many investors may not be noticing. \"There's so much more evidence that 2021 is just not what 2020 was, right? It is a completely different type of market, and some investors are able to adjust and see the information coming in and act accordingly. And some investors just like to sit on their hands and hope that last year's market was going to continue to be this year's market. I see it every day, and they're paying a price for it,\" he says.</p><p>Parets outlines his trading style using the recent highs of certain trading instruments as a line in the sand. If the price is below the level, he's thinking bearishly. \"[If the index level is] below the February highs in small caps or the Nasdaq, under no circumstances can we be long ... Bottom line is there's no reason to be long if the Nasdaq or small caps are below those February highs.\"</p><p>Apple stock, like many of its peers, has gone largely sideways since September despite making a nominal record high in January. Most recently, we tried to get back there last month and failed, again. That's the level, 138. If you're below 138, under no circumstances can you own Apple ... I prefer to be short. And how low could it go? ... I could go real low. Why can't it get back toward 100?\" says Parets.</p><h2>Gold making a comeback</h2><p>Parets also highlights how defensive sectors and instruments have been perking up since the March lows. He uses a generalized trading maxim to illustrate how the trends in defensive stocks morphed from bearish to bullish.</p><p>\"First thing assets need to do before they [start going up] is to stop going down. And over the last year, what were the worst assets? Bonds, yen, gold, staples on a relative bases. All the defensive areas were the worst place to be. And that changed in the first quarter of this year. They stopped going down, and over the last couple months, they've actually been going up,\" says Parets.</p><p>When it comes to things that have started to go up, Parets is looking at playing gold. \"We've been bullish gold. That trade's been working — not just the metal, also the [gold] miners as well. Yen stopped going down, bonds stopped going down. They're not really going up, but they're not going down either. And [with consumer] staples, utilities, [and] REITs outperforming, does that remind you of an environment where stocks are doing well? Or should they be doing poorly?\" he asks.</p><p>Separately, Lee Munson, president and CIO at Portfolio Wealth Advisors, is also telling Yahoo Finance Live he likes gold as an investment because the environment for the precious metal has fundamentally changed. \"What moved gold in the past is not what is moving it right now. (INTC) investors over the past few years.</p>\n<p>It seems like every time the sun comes out...there is another storm right around the corner.</p>\n<p>As highlighted on the earnings call last night, the next \"storm\" brewing for Intel is continued supply chain issues (component shortages in the PC business) and reduced near-term profitability from rising capital expenditure needs, which has sent the stock plummeting 11% this morning into the abyss.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5bd612f6f25b6e86d7a72b38440d513f\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"449\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p>\n<p>However, buying the dips has actually been pretty lucrative in the recent past...if, of course, you were lucky enough to fade the rallies.</p>\n<p>To be fair, Intel has had its fair share of challenges this year, despite general tailwinds in the industry (i.e., chip demand far outpacing supply).</p>\n<p>Specifically, Intel has had some well-documented manufacturing blunders that have caused major delays and loss of some market share...mainly to Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).</p>\n<p>This has triggered concern amongst investors that the stock may be a potential \"value trap\" now.</p>\n<p>All that said, Intel is dedicated to spending $25 billion to $28 billion in 2022 and just broke ground on some new fabs.</p>\n<p>Personally, I don't think we are anywhere near peak demand for chips and I believe that Intel's fabrication capabilities are (and will continue to be) a huge advantage for the company for years to come.</p>\n<p>So how can we structure a trade to take advantage of the upside potential in the stock (after this pullback) while also protecting ourselves from more near-term downside (if any)?</p>\n<p><b>It's a perfect situation for a \"Triple Play\" trade!</b></p>\n<p>Intel Corp.</p>\n<p><b>Sector/Industry:</b>Technology/Semiconductors</p>\n<blockquote>\n Intel is the world's largest chipmaker. Due to this year’s components shortage, chip maker TSMC may raise its part prices to Apple by 3% to 5%, which could lead to a similar increase in the price of the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 13.</p>\n<p>It is unlikely that one of the largest and most successful consumer product companies in the world would try to raise prices without confidence that doing so does not impact demand for the new iPhone substantially. Apple can probably afford to hike prices because the company understands the value and the appeal of its luxury brand.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0140b9b68bb9eb5dd7e88aaff384785d\" tg-width=\"707\" tg-height=\"370\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"><span>Figure 2: iPhone 12 Pro on Apple's store.</span></p>\n<p><b>A quote from Jim Cramer</b></p>\n<p>One of the most concerning headwinds to stocks in the foreseeable future is the possibility of inflation eroding corporate margins and leading to higher interest rates in 2021-2022. But should producer and consumer prices spike, not all stocks will be impacted equally.</p>\n<p>Generally speaking, companies with strong pricing power that are able to pass on the higher production costs to consumers will likely outperform. This is a point that&nbsp;Mad Money’s Jim Cramer has made recently. Here is his quote:</p>\n<blockquote>\n “When you try to think of what’s working in this market... I want you to ask yourself, would you be insensitive to a price increase if the company put one through? [What are] the companies that can raise prices without infuriating you? Go buy their stocks.”\n</blockquote>\n<p><b>The impact to the P&amp;L</b></p>\n<p>Are higher prices a good or a bad thing for a company’s financial performance? The answer is nuanced and depends on a few factors.</p>\n<p>Holding all else constant, higher prices also mean higher revenues (think of the formula for sales: price times quantity). If the increase in price is decoupled from an increase in product or operating costs, then the hike also helps to boost margins – thus profits as well.</p>\n<p>However, “holding all else constant” is not how the world really works. A change in price tends to have an impact on a few key variables, most important of which is demand. If higher prices do not impact units sold by much or at all, this is great news for revenues and, most likely, earnings.</p>\n<p>The other piece to consider is whether the price hike fully or only partially offsets higher costs. Assuming the latter, revenues can still benefit without a corresponding positive effect on margins and profits. This is bad news for users, but probably good news for Apple stock investors.\nIPhone users thinking of upgrading their devices this year (or those looking to switch to the iOS-based product) should expect to reach deeper into their pockets. DigiTimes has reported that Apple’s iPhone 13 could be launched next month at a higher price due to parts inflation.\nBad news for consumers could be great news for Apple stock investors. If the price increase is confirmed, it provides evidence that AAPL might be a great inflation play during these times of worry over rising producer and consumer prices.\nFigure 1: Apple's iPhone 12 Pro.\nWhat happened?\nThe iPhone is already considered a pricey tech gadget that can cost as much as $1,400 for the fully loaded, higher-end 12 Pro Max model in the US (see figure below). Due to this year’s components shortage, chip maker TSMC may raise its part prices to Apple by 3% to 5%, which could lead to a similar increase in the price of the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 13.\nIt is unlikely that one of the largest and most successful consumer product companies in the world would try to raise prices without confidence that doing so does not impact demand for the new iPhone substantially. Apple can probably afford to hike prices because the company understands the value and the appeal of its luxury brand.\nFigure 2: iPhone 12 Pro on Apple's store.\nA quote from Jim Cramer\nOne of the most concerning headwinds to stocks in the foreseeable future is the possibility of inflation eroding corporate margins and leading to higher interest rates in 2021-2022. But should producer and consumer prices spike, not all stocks will be impacted equally.\nGenerally speaking, companies with strong pricing power that are able to pass on the higher production costs to consumers will likely outperform. This is a point that Mad Money’s Jim Cramer has made recently. Here is his quote:\n\n “When you try to think of what’s working in this market... I want you to ask yourself, would you be insensitive to a price increase if the company put one through? [What are] the companies that can raise prices without infuriating you? Go buy their stocks.”\n\nThe impact to the P&L\nAre higher prices a good or a bad thing for a company’s financial performance? The answer is nuanced and depends on a few factors.\nHolding all else constant, higher prices also mean higher revenues (think of the formula for sales: price times quantity). If the increase in price is decoupled from an increase in product or operating costs, then the hike also helps to boost margins – thus profits as well.\nHowever, “holding all else constant” is not how the world really works. A change in price tends to have an impact on a few key variables, most important of which is demand. If higher prices do not impact units sold by much or at all, this is great news for revenues and, most likely, earnings.\nThe other piece to consider is whether the price hike fully or only partially offsets higher costs. Assuming the latter, revenues can still benefit without a corresponding positive effect on margins and profits.
