Those prices are before subsidies.\nThe ET5 features the latest NIO Autonomous Driving and is said to be set to gradually achieve a safe and reassuring autonomous driving experience in scenarios such as highways, urban areas, parking and battery swapping.\nOther highlights from Nio's (NIO) event included updates on the ET7. The company also talked up its power and battery charging initiatives. Nio (NIO) said it has now deployed 3,348 destination chargers and 3,136 super chargers across China. Home chargers have been installed for 94K users.\nWatch Nio (NIO) for a bounce on Monday if the event creates buzz. rise\" and that tailwinds to CrowdStrike's growth in 2022 will ease from 2021, according to the Fly.
\n
As such, Powell said the company's growth in annual recurring revenue will likely moderate into the 40% to 45% range in a fiscal 2023 \"upside scenario.\"
\n
The analyst said this means that investors \"will be faced with the difficult task of gauging the slope of a deceleration and sustainable long-term growth rates over the next 6 to 12 months.\"
\n
Last week, CrowdStrike's shares rose after the company unveiled new features to the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, which works with services from Amazon Web Services.
\n
The expanded features provide joint customers with comprehensive visibility, dynamic scale, automation and flexibility to better prevent, detect and respond to threats in the cloud and across endpoints, the company said.
\n
In September, several analysts raised their price targets for CrowdStrike after the company beat Wall Street's second-quarter-earnings expectations.
\n
CrowdStrike reported earnings of 11 cents a share, beating the FactSet consensus of 9 cents a share. Revenue totaled $337.7 million, up 70% from a year earlier. On point is this gem from 1994:
\n
“Thirty years ago, no one could have foreseen the huge expansion of the Vietnam War, wage and price controls, two oil shocks, the resignation of a president, the dissolution of the Soviet Union, a one-day drop in the Dow of 508 points, or treasury bill yields fluctuating between 2.8% and 17.4%. But, surprise — none of these blockbuster events made the slightest dent in [fundamental] investment principles.”
\n
As unprecedented as these times may seem, from angst to innovation, another Buffett gem reminds us that we’ve been here before. In 2018, Buffett wrote again of how the fundamentals of investing are timeless:
\n
“Since 1942… the country contended at various times with a long period of viral inflation, a 21% prime rate, several controversial and costly wars, the resignation of a president, a pervasive collapse in home values, a paralyzing financial panic and a host of other problems.”
\n
Buffett has always believed that the fundamentals of investing remain intact even in the face of financial fads or innovations, from the tech bubble of the late 1990s to today’s meme stocks or social investing funds.
\n
The fundamentals of investing are collated in homespun and humorous essays Buffett has been writing for the shareholders of his company, Berkshire Hathaway, for six decades. Since 1996, with Buffett’s support, I have published a collection of the best of these, representing a comprehensive, non-repetitive and compact mini-course useful to any individual investor.
\n
In this year’s essay, Buffett warned about the perils of investing by individuals, particularly now in a period brimming with “promoters” telling “stories” that create “illusions” for the gullible. Springing to mind are SPACs, ETFs, ESG funds, and other fashionable offerings. Buffett cautions against “speculators” peddling “enticing ideas” and “calls for action” that “never stop.”
\n
Buffett advises avoiding such lures. In contrast, he uses two examples from his own investing experience to highlight the appeal for investing of common sense, simplicity and business focus. The examples are his investments in an Omaha farm (in 1986) and a New York City apartment building (in 1993) in which he earned outsized returns by adhering to just a few fundamentals.
\n
First, Buffett has long said the three most important words in investing are “margin of safety.” He refers to the phrase coined by his mentor, Benjamin Graham, who stressed that investment opportunities arise when priced below value. Buffett purchased the farm from a failed banker, and the building from a government receiver. They were eager sellers offering low prices given market conditions. Hunting for such safety is especially important in current highly-priced markets.
\n
Second, Buffett says “keep it simple” and “don’t swing for the fences.” He isn’t an expert in farming or real estate. But he understood enough to estimate revenues and expenses on these assets over a decade-long holding period. Buffett estimated a 10% return, which he judged reasonable for the moderate risk. In fact, both of these investments saw earnings triple estimates and their value quintuple. If you keep it simple, meaning invest in things you understand, you only need basic competence to comfortably make economic estimates.
\n
Finally, Buffett advises to “focus on the playing field, not the scoreboard.” By this he means to study the asset and related business prospects rather than any market price. In stocks, for example, focus on the value of the expected cash flows over the next 10 years, not on today’s closing price; for an office building, focus on the value of the expected rent rolls, not on the sales price of the building down the block.
\n
Individual investors know that investing is not easy and that choppy waters can make things uncomfortable. Following the fundamentals helps, as does the perspective that history provides.
\n
Lawrence A. It missed by a half million jobs relative to consensus,” he said.
\n
Labor market conditions are expected to improve in the next few months, given the expiration of the extra $300 a week in unemployment benefits and record job openings.
\n
BofA Global summed up “perhaps the most underappreciated statistic in the jobs market” in this Friday chart, showing how job openings now outpace people seeing work.
\n
Job openings outpace seekers BOFA GLOBAL, BLS
\n
“The Fed is pointing to the labor market statistics as a reason to delay tapering,” Ethan Harris and BofA’s global rates and currencies research team wrote. “We don’t agree.”
\n
“If demand is red hot, their job is to lean against it regardless of whether it shows up as surging payrolls or surging excess demand for labor.”
\n
The recent bullishness in the U.S. stock market has come as the U.S. faces its highest daily death count from COVID in six months, with nearly a quarter of the U.S. population still refusing to get vaccinated despite widespread availability in America.
\n
In a renewed push to halt COVID’s toll, President Joe Biden in a Thursday White House speech unveiled a 6-part plan to defeat “the pandemic of the unvaccinated,” which has been filling up hospital emergency rooms and leaving others without access to medical care.
\n
Rough patch
\n
While it has been smooth sailing for investors this year, with the S&P 500 index up almost 19%, a rough patch likely lies ahead.
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 2.2% for the week, while the S&P 500 Index ended the week down 1.7%, booking the ugliest weekly declines since June 18. The Nasdaq Composite Index retreated by 1.6%.
\n
With stock-market valuations at “historically extreme” levels,a Deutsche Bank analyst said on Friday that the risk of a “hard” correction is growing.
\n
In addition, there could be several waves of the coronavirus’ delta variant and the threat of other strains to follow, but also the potential for a significant leadership change when Chairman Powell’s term expires in January.
\n
Since August, Orlando has been bracing for a 5% to 10% pullback in stocks through October, something which has not happened since November 2020 and which could take the S&P 500 down below its 200-day moving average of about 4,000. However, after that clears, he expects the index to top 4,800 around year-end, with a 5,300 forecast for 2022.
\n
Debt test
\n
Another test of U.S. financial conditions has been playing out in real time for borrowers in the near $11 trillion corporate bond market, where the first part of a September financing blitz has been going off without a hitch.
\n
The week of the U.S. Labor Day holiday smashed daily records for the number of investment-grade companies borrowing in the bond market, mainly with an eye to lock in cheap funding ahead of any volatility before year-end.
\n
“It really speaks to the resilience of the market in terms of its ability to digest this volume of corporate credit transactions, despite the deluge,” said U.S. Bank’s James Whang, co-head of the credit fixed income and the municipal product group.
\n
Spreads in both the U.S. investment-grade and high-yield, or “junk bond,” market have been hovering near all-time lows, even as the Fed sells the remainder of its pandemic holdings of corporate bonds.
\n
“I think concerns around tapering are a little overplayed,” Whang told MarketWatch. “I don’t think the Fed would do anything to constrain economic growth, when there still is a fair amount of uncertainty around delta.”
\n
In the week ahead,U.S. economic data will be focused on Tuesday’s cost of living reading via the Consumer Price Index and Core CPI for August. Then, it is more jobs data on Thursday, while Friday brings the preliminary University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index for Sept.
","source":"lsy1603348471595","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; It missed by a half million jobs relative to consensus,” he said.\nLabor market conditions are expected to improve in the next few months, given the expiration of the extra $300 a week in unemployment benefits and record job openings.\nBofA Global summed up “perhaps the most underappreciated statistic in the jobs market” in this Friday chart, showing how job openings now outpace people seeing work.\nJob openings outpace seekers BOFA GLOBAL, BLS\n“The Fed is pointing to the labor market statistics as a reason to delay tapering,” Ethan Harris and BofA’s global rates and currencies research team wrote. “We don’t agree.”\n“If demand is red hot, their job is to lean against it regardless of whether it shows up as surging payrolls or surging excess demand for labor.”\nThe recent bullishness in the U.S. stock market has come as the U.S. faces its highest daily death count from COVID in six months, with nearly a quarter of the U.S. population still refusing to get vaccinated despite widespread availability in America.\nIn a renewed push to halt COVID’s toll, President Joe Biden in a Thursday White House speech unveiled a 6-part plan to defeat “the pandemic of the unvaccinated,” which has been filling up hospital emergency rooms and leaving others without access to medical care.\nRough patch\nWhile it has been smooth sailing for investors this year, with the S&P 500 index up almost 19%, a rough patch likely lies ahead.\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 2.2% for the week, while the S&P 500 Index ended the week down 1.7%, booking the ugliest weekly declines since June 18. The Nasdaq Composite Index retreated by 1.6%.\nWith stock-market valuations at “historically extreme” levels,a Deutsche Bank analyst said on Friday that the risk of a “hard” correction is growing.\nIn addition, there could be several waves of the coronavirus’ delta variant and the threat of other strains to follow, but also the potential for a significant leadership change when Chairman Powell’s term expires in January.\nSince August, Orlando has been bracing for a 5% to 10% pullback in stocks through October, something which has not happened since November 2020 and which could take the S&P 500 down below its 200-day moving average of about 4,000. However, after that clears, he expects the index to top 4,800 around year-end, with a 5,300 forecast for 2022.\nDebt test\nAnother test of U.S. financial conditions has been playing out in real time for borrowers in the near $11 trillion corporate bond market, where the first part of a September financing blitz has been going off without a hitch.\nThe week of the U.S. Labor Day holiday smashed daily records for the number of investment-grade companies borrowing in the bond market, mainly with an eye to lock in cheap funding ahead of any volatility before year-end.\n“It really speaks to the resilience of the market in terms of its ability to digest this volume of corporate credit transactions, despite the deluge,” said U.S. Bank’s James Whang, co-head of the credit fixed income and the municipal product group.\nSpreads in both the U.S. investment-grade and high-yield, or “junk bond,” market have been hovering near all-time lows, even as the Fed sells the remainder of its pandemic holdings of corporate bonds.\n“I think concerns around tapering are a little overplayed,” Whang told MarketWatch. “I don’t think the Fed would do anything to constrain economic growth, when there still is a fair amount of uncertainty around delta.”\nIn the week ahead,U.S. economic data will be focused on Tuesday’s cost of living reading via the Consumer Price Index and Core CPI for August. Then, it is more jobs data on Thursday, while Friday brings the preliminary University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index for Sept.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":165,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":693071338,"gmtCreate":1639955416746,"gmtModify":1639955416939,"author":{"id":"4087267509717010","authorId":"4087267509717010","name":"kimC","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d507a950b8322c8dd1fac8cb737f0eae","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087267509717010","authorIdStr":"4087267509717010"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Expensive.
