Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) . Taiwan Semiconductor reports Q2 financial performance in two weeks, on July 16th. Currently, Wall Street is looking for EPS of $0.93, without much divergence in opinion. This name is not as highly followed across the community of analysts. I can only find four analysts that have gone as far as to make quarterly projections, six that have made annual projections, and just two that have really stuck their necks out and stated a price target at any point in the past six months.
\n
The range of EPS expectations for Q2 EPS for TSM, across those four analysts is just $0.91 to $0.95. Wall Street is looking for approximately $13.2 billion in revenue generation for the quarter, which would be year over year sales growth of about 27%. This would be an acceleration in sales growth for a second consecutive quarter.
\n
This Week
\n
It was Tuesday. DigiTimes reports that Taiwan Semiconductor is expected to record record revenues for June, due to shipments of iPhones showing up in the data. Apparently, reduced purchases by client Bitmain, as China bans Bitcoin mining had not taken the toll on TSM sales as some had expected. Demand for 5nm and 7nm processors had offset the loss of that mining business as the firm shipped chips for Apple's (AAPL) smartphones in time to appear in June's numbers. The expectation is that the firm stays on course for 20% sales growth for the fiscal year, and that June could be flat from May (which is a good thing).
\n
Early this (Friday) morning, news broke that Apple and Intel (INTC) will be the first customers to test TSM's 3nm production technology, which if all goes well, deploys toward the back half of 2022. Nikkei Asia reports that Intel is planning at least two projects to design CPUs for notebooks and data centers around the new 3nm chips.
\n
Just a quick tutorial. TSM's 5nm chips are the most advanced chips available and if you have an iPhone 12, you have one of these chips. TSM is indicating that the new 3nm chips will offer a 10% to 15% boost to computing performance compared to the current 5nm product, while also reducing power consumption by 25% to 30%.
\n
As an aside, Intel announced the delay of the Sapphire Rapids data center processor earlier this week. While this is seen around Wall Street as yet another chance for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) , and even Nvidia (NVDA) , to tackle even more market share away from the lumbering giant, but also makes at least this investor wonder just how Intel thinks they are going to get to a point anytime soon where they can compete with the likes of Taiwan Semiconductor as a global foundry to other chip designers.
\n
Wall Street
\n
Of those few analysts that I mentioned who actually cover the name, only one reacted to this news. Susquehanna's five star (rated at TipRanks) analyst Mehdi Hosseini upgraded the name from \"Negative\" to \"Neutral\", while upping his target price from $85 to $105. The only other analyst with a recent target price is Jim Kelleher of Argus Research (also five stars). Kelleher initiated the name a week earlier as a \"Buy\" with a $150 target.
\n
The Chart
\n

\n
Readers will see that in late April, these shares managed to turn a descending triangle (which is a bearish pattern) into a flat basing pattern without ever allowing the triangle to close. Since bottoming, TSM has retaken both the 21 day EMA and the 50 day SMA, using the former as support on weakness just yesterday.
\n
The Plan
\n
Regular followers well know that I have been hot for the semis for a good while now, in spite of, or rather because of the widely covered shortages that are creating significant pricing power.
\n
I am already long AMD, and Marvell Technology (MRVL) , both of whom have been solid investments. Applied Materials (AMAT) , and Brooks Automation (BRKS) , two names that have been good, and meh, respectively. I probably have room for a large foundry that will probably make short work of Intel (my opinion) once Intel tries to move in on their business.
\n
I think TSM is ripe for entry, perhaps to the tune of 1/8 of intended position size. I would expect to add a second tranche of 1/8 at either a test of the 21 day EMA or a retaking of the $122 level, which is our pivot. Our target price upon taking that pivot will be $144, while for now (after purchasing these shares), I will go with a panic point of $110 (8% discount to initial entry).
","source":"lsy1610613172068","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Taiwan Semiconductor Is Ripe for Entry: Here's How I'm Playing It
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTaiwan Semiconductor Is Ripe for Entry: Here's How I'm Playing It\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-03 09:40 GMT+8 The Street\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
I've been hot for the semis for a good while now because of the widely covered shortages that are creating significant pricing power.\n\nThinking about... But the company isn't as bad. On the contrary, the data analytics firm is performing well on several parameters – such as customer growth, government order wins and margin expansion – which should come as an encouraging sign for its long-side investors and dispel such speculative bearish narratives. Let's take a closer look.
\n
Rapid Customer Growth
\n
Bears have been criticizing Palantir for its bespoke functionality ever since it went public. Its platforms involve customization for various workflows and customer needs, so bears feel the company faces difficulty in onboarding several customers at once and as a result, it’s bottlenecked and its growth momentum can fizzle out. While I respect contrasting opinions, fact of the matter here is that Palantir doesn’t seem to be struggling with customer adds.
\n
The company’s customer count increased by over 7% on a sequential basis in Q1 2021. Our database at Business Quant reveals that this pace of growth is actually higher than that reported by some of the other renowned names in the software application and infrastructure industries. This immediately dispels the narrative that Palantir faces difficulty in scaling customer relationships due to its bespoke features, whenit's performing better than peers in this regard.
\n

\n
The company’s elevated pace of customer additions shouldn’t come as a surprise to my readers. I’ve explained in my prior articles how the company is undertaking a slew of measures – such as adopting a customer-friendly payment model, ramping up its sales function and introducing free trials for major enterprises – to expand its customer base. These initiatives were announced only a few months ago, and will continue for the rest of FY21, so I expect Palantir to continue adding customers at a rapid rate in near future as well.
\n
Having said that, there’s no denying that Palantir’s customer base isn’t as sizable as some of its peers, but that’s also where its growth opportunity lies. It suggests that Palantir is yet to penetrate its target market in a big way and that its lower base effect makes it easier for the company to continue expanding its customer base at elevated rates.
\n
There are broadly four takeaways here, which, by the way, the bears seem to discount time and again. These are:
\n
\n
Palantir's target market isn't saturated yet and it can still find new customers with ease,
\n
These new customers are bound to lift the company’s revenue higher in 2021 by a varied magnitude, depending on their contract value,
\n
If these are recurring contracts, then that’s going to boost Palantir’s future revenue projections and guidance,
\n
If these new customers eventually ramp up their spend, then that's also going to boost Palantir’s future cash flows.
\n
\n
Regarding the last bullet, it's worth noting that Palantir’s top 20 customers, in general, have significantly ramped up their spending on the company’s data analytics platforms in each of the last 10 years. This new batch of customers, and any future customer additions, could also go through this spending expansion phase in the subsequent years and gradually boost Palantir’s revenue along the way. So, we must give due importance to its rapid pace of customer adds and not take it lightly.
\n
(Source: BusinessQuant.com)
\n
Margin Expansion
\n
Another issue with assessing Palantir’s growth prospects is that the company isn’t profitable yet. While some feel the stock will remain subdued due to its weak margin profile, others feel it can collapse down to single digits. The frustration is understandable given the company posted a net loss of $0.07 per share in its most recent quarter.
\n
(Source:Seeking Alpha)
\n
But I wanted to see for myself if Palantir’s margin profile was actually as hopeless as many believe it to be. So, I compiled the margin profiles for about 90 software infrastructure stocks listed on US bourses. There's no denying that the company's net profit margin is in the red. But what's surprising here is that Palantir had actually posted one of the highest sequential net margin expansions in Q1, in its peer group. To the best of my knowledge, this aspect of Palantir’s business hasn’t been discussed on any investing forum.
\n
(Source: BusinessQuant.com)
\n
The company may not have been profitable so far, but that doesn’t mean it will remain unprofitable in the future as well. If its recent pace of margin expansion continues in the next several quarters, the company could become profitable in the next 2 to 3 years without sacrificing on its growth momentum. So, let’s give credit where it’s due. The community of professional analysts also shares this line of thought and projects Palantir's margin profile to materially improve going forward.
\n
(Source:MarketScreener)
\n
Besides, with public shareholding involved now, its management is likely to be under constant pressure to deliver breakneck revenue growth rates, and/or achieve profitability in the near future, or risk being voted out of their positions. This pressure may not have been as intense prior to its direct listing, when fewer shareholders were involved. So, overall, I don’t think Palantir’s margin profile is hopeless as many believe it to be, and I expect the company to become profitable by 2024.
\n
Government Contract Wins
\n
Moving on, Palantir has been doing extremely well when it comes to securing government contracts. B2G contracts are generally tough to win – given the extensive qualification criteria, long turnaround times and heightened competition – but Palantir seems to have the figured out recipe for success on the government side of its business. For the uninitiated, its revenue from government contracts rose 76% year over year, accounted for about 61% of the company's overall revenue, in Q1.
\n
Unless the company botches up somewhere, these government agencies are likely going to internally recommend it for varied applications. They won’t have to qualify Palantir time and again for several criteria which could drive these internal cross-agency referrals in a speedy manner and these agencies might even ramp up their spending in pre-existing contracts. So, Palantir just needs to rinse-and-repeat its B2G (Business-to-Government) strategy, and its government revenue could continue growing rapidly.
\n
Palantir has also made steady progress with regards to its government business so far in Q2. Its Q2 is still ongoing, but at the time of this writing, the company has over $36 million worth of new current action obligations from government deals, agreements and contracts, most of which haven’t made the headlines. For the uninitiated, a new deal could be an addition to pre-existing deal, expand the scope of previously agreed upon deliverables, it could be entirely new in nature, have varied execution periods that span from months to years and/or also have a recurring revenue stream attached to it.
\n
(Source: BusinessQuant.com)
\n
So, while there are several variables that prevent us from reliably estimating the near-term revenue impact from these deals, Palantir’s shareholders with a long-term time horizon should feel reassured that their company continues to make steady progress towards growing its government business.
\n
Final Thoughts
\n
Palantir’s shares are currently trading at about 43-times its trailing twelve-month sales which is, undeniably, high by conventional standards.
\n
(Source: BusinessQuant.com)
\n
However, its rich valuations alone shouldn't be the basis of a bear thesis. Palantir's valuation multiples may be high, but note from the chart above thatits revenue growth rate in Q1 was also higher than most of its peers.
\n
So, I believe the price premium is justified by the company’s rapid pace of revenue growth (illustrated in the chart above), its qualitative growth catalysts discussed in this article and its relatively secure government revenue stream.
\n
Keeping these factors in mind, investors with a multi-year time horizon may want to increase exposure to Palantir on potential price corrections. The stock is likely to reach new highs as its growth catalysts eventually materialize, and as the company approaches profitability, in the next 2 to 3 years. The prices paid index, driven higher by the current demand/supply imbalance, soared to its highest level since 1979, according to ISM.
\n
“The employment and manufacturing data released today supported the idea of continued growth but at a decelerated rate,” Carter added.
\n
Friday’s hotly anticipated jobs report is expected to show payrolls growing by 700,000 and unemployment inching down to 5.7%. A robust upside surprise could lead the U.S. Federal Reserve to adjust its timetable for tapering its securities purchases and raising key interest rates.
\n
“Too-strong economic data could perversely be a bad thing for markets if it caused the Fed to raise rates faster than expected,” Carter said. “Weak employment data may actually be welcomed.”
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 131.02 points, or 0.38%, to 34,633.53, the S&P 500 gained 22.44 points, or 0.52%, to 4,319.94 and the Nasdaq Composite added 18.42 points, or 0.13%, to 14,522.38.
\n
Of the 11 major sectors in the S&P 500, consumer staples was the sole loser, shedding 0.3%.
\n
Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc dropped 7.4% after it said it expects to administer fewer COVID-19 vaccine shots in the fourth quarter.
\n
Didi Global Inc jumped 16.0%, on its second day of trading as a U.S.-listed company.
\n
Micron Technology Inc slid by 5.7% following a report that Texas Instruments would buy Micron’s Lehi, Utah, factory for $900 million.
\n
Advancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 1.78-to-1 ratio; The prices paid index, driven higher by the current demand/supply imbalance, soared to its highest level since 1979, according to ISM.\n“The employment and manufacturing data released today supported the idea of continued growth but at a decelerated rate,” Carter added.\nFriday’s hotly anticipated jobs report is expected to show payrolls growing by 700,000 and unemployment inching down to 5.7%. A robust upside surprise could lead the U.S. Federal Reserve to adjust its timetable for tapering its securities purchases and raising key interest rates.\n“Too-strong economic data could perversely be a bad thing for markets if it caused the Fed to raise rates faster than expected,” Carter said. “Weak employment data may actually be welcomed.”\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 131.02 points, or 0.38%, to 34,633.53, the S&P 500 gained 22.44 points, or 0.52%, to 4,319.94 and the Nasdaq Composite added 18.42 points, or 0.13%, to 14,522.38.\nOf the 11 major sectors in the S&P 500, consumer staples was the sole loser, shedding 0.3%.\nWalgreens Boots Alliance Inc dropped 7.4% after it said it expects to administer fewer COVID-19 vaccine shots in the fourth quarter.\nDidi Global Inc jumped 16.0%, on its second day of trading as a U.S.-listed company.\nMicron Technology Inc slid by 5.7% following a report that Texas Instruments would buy Micron’s Lehi, Utah, factory for $900 million.\nAdvancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 1.78-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.32-to-1 ratio favored advancers.\nThe S&P 500 posted 36 new 52-week highs and no new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 78 new highs and 30 new lows.\nVolume on U.S. exchanges was 9.53 billion shares, compared with the 10.9 billion average over the last 20 trading days.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":778,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":123841291,"gmtCreate":1624417786013,"gmtModify":1634006396721,"author":{"id":"3579485832735627","authorId":"3579485832735627","name":"Irene104","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/51a81271b5c1b4f1ca7b728f547fc3ba","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3579485832735627","authorIdStr":"3579485832735627"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like & comment. Understandably, this is because of the vital role these companies have played over the past year. Amidst the current pandemic, the adoption of digital payments has and continues to accelerate at breakneck speeds. One doesn’t need to look far to see the impact of fintech on their life. From online payment for goods and services, sending money to trading stocks online, all can be done from your palm.

It was because of these reasons we could carry out our life with minimal disruptions. Merchants have been relying on fintech providers to keep their business going. For instance,PayPal(NASDAQ: PYPL) is a fintech ecosystem that provides everything a business or individual would need in the cashless world. The fintech giant reported its strongest quarter on record and beat Wall Streets’ estimates on Wednesday. The digital payments company processed a total of $285 billion in payments in the first quarter, up 50% year-over-year. Besides, it also added 14.5 million net new active customers.

Furthermore, another growing trend in the overall fintech space now would be cryptocurrencies. Venmo, the mobile wallet owned by PayPal, also allows customers to buy and sell cryptocurrencies likeBitcoinand Ethereum. With digital payments expected to be the norm in the future, it is not surprising investors have been looking for top fintech stocks to buy in thestock market. Be it the continuing innovation in fintech services or major adoption of cryptocurrencies, these trends are what many deem as the future of finance. If you are optimistic about what this sector has to offer, let’s look at fourtop fintech stocksto consider buying with plenty of growth opportunities ahead.

Best Fintech Stocks To Watch Right Now

Square Inc.(NYSE: SQ)

Paysafe Ltd(NYSE: PSFE)

MercadoLibre Inc.(NASDAQ: MELI)

Sea Limited(NYSE: SE)

Square

Square is a financial services, merchant services aggregator, and mobile payment company that is based in San Francisco. The fintech giant operates two fintech ecosystems, one of which provides a commerce ecosystem that enables its sellers to start, run, and grow their businesses. But what’s sending Square stock over the roof is its Cash App, a growing segment for the company. This is unsurprising given how at the onset of the pandemic, there has been a steady increase in cashless adoption rates and contactless payments. If anything, the pandemic had accelerated this shift to digital payments. From its last quarterly report in February, Square reported a quarterly gross profit of $804 million, up by 52% year-over-year. The company’s Cash App delivered strong growth, with a gross profit of $377 million, a staggering 162% year-over-year increase.

We saw that PayPal has reported its strongest quarter in history. It is natural that investors will be looking at SQ stock today as it will report its earnings after the closing bell today. Considering the accelerating adoption of fintech, will you consider buying SQ stock right now?

Paysafe

Paysafe is a leading specialized payments platform. Its core purpose is to enable businesses and consumers to connect and transact seamlessly. Particularly, the company specializes in payment processing, digital wallet, and online cash solutions. But Paysafe isn’t the same company as PayPal or Square. Rather, it’s primarily a payment processor. With over 20 years of online payment experience, the company boasts an annualized transactional volume of $92 billion in 2020.You might have come across Paysafe as a pioneer in digital commerce. That’s right, but there’s another angle that could contribute more value to the company’s business. And it is the company’s involvement in iGaming that has growth investors salivating. In fact, Paysafe is the exclusive online payment processor for DraftKings (NASDAQ: DKNG).

Should Paysafe be successful in growing its iGaming market, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a multi-bagger investment in the making. With the company’s impressive global reach, would you say that now is the right time to be one of the early investors before PSFE stock takes off?

MercadoLibre

MercadoLibre is the undisputed leader of e-commerce in the Latin American market. But there is also a high growth opportunity in the fintech segment of the company. If you have heard of this company, chances are you know it has a payment system by the name of Mercado Pago. And this is the Latin American answer to PayPal and Square. More importantly, this payment system has brought impressive results to the company.

From the company’s first-quarter results released on May 5, net revenue came in 158.4% higher year-over-year to $1.4 billion on a constant currency basis. Total payment transactions through Mercado Pago reached $14.7 billion, a year-over-year increase of 81.8% and 129.2% on a constant currency basis. Total payment transactions rose 116.7% from a year ago, totaling 630.1 million transactions for the quarter.

With its leading position in both e-commerce and digital payments in its geographies, MercadoLibre certainly has a lot going for it. With the rising affluence in the countries that the company operates, is MELI stock a buy and hold for the decades to come?

Sea Ltd

Similar to MercadoLibre, Sea Ltd. core services consist of e-commerce, digital financial service, and digital entertainment. Sea Ltd gives investors exposure to the fast-growing e-commerce market in Southeast Asia. Understandably, this is because of the vital role these companies have played over the past year. Amidst the current pandemic, the adoption of digital payments has and continues to accelerate at breakneck speeds. One doesn’t need to look far to see the impact of fintech on their life. From online payment for goods and services, sending money to trading stocks online, all can be done from your palm.It was because of these reasons we could carry out our life with minimal disruptions. Besides, it also added 14.5 million net new active customers.Furthermore, another growing trend in the overall fintech space now would be cryptocurrencies. If you are optimistic about what this sector has to offer, let’s look at fourtop fintech stocksto consider buying with plenty of growth opportunities ahead.Best Fintech Stocks To Watch Right NowSquare Inc.(NYSE: SQ)Paysafe Ltd(NYSE: PSFE)MercadoLibre Inc.(NASDAQ: MELI)Sea Limited(NYSE: SE)SquareSquare is a financial services, merchant services aggregator, and mobile payment company that is based in San Francisco. Considering the accelerating adoption of fintech, will you consider buying SQ stock right now?PaysafePaysafe is a leading specialized payments platform. In fact, Paysafe is the exclusive online payment processor for DraftKings (NASDAQ: DKNG).Should Paysafe be successful in growing its iGaming market, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a multi-bagger investment in the making. With the company’s impressive global reach, would you say that now is the right time to be one of the early investors before PSFE stock takes off?MercadoLibreMercadoLibre is the undisputed leader of e-commerce in the Latin American market. With the rising affluence in the countries that the company operates, is MELI stock a buy and hold for the decades to come?Sea LtdSimilar to MercadoLibre, Sea Ltd. core services consist of e-commerce, digital financial service, and digital entertainment. Sea Ltd gives investors exposure to the fast-growing e-commerce market in Southeast Asia.
I would expect to add a second tranche of 1/8 at either a test of the 21 day EMA or a retaking of the $122 level, which is our pivot. Our target price upon taking that pivot will be $144, while for now (after purchasing these shares), I will go with a panic point of $110 (8% discount to initial entry).","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":517,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":164017526,"gmtCreate":1624161459465,"gmtModify":1634010005271,"author":{"id":"3579485832735627","authorId":"3579485832735627","name":"Irene104","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/51a81271b5c1b4f1ca7b728f547fc3ba","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3579485832735627","authorIdStr":"3579485832735627"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like & comment.
