Many stocks, so","content":"

The meme stock craze of 2021 was certainly a historically unique market environment. Many stocks, some heavily shorted and some just interesting speculative growth plays, rocketed sharply higher -- often doubling, tripling, or more in a very short time. And many took investors on quite a roller coaster ride for months.

To be sure, most meme stocks aren't worth buying as long-term investments. For example, it's tough to make a long-term investment case for AMC Entertainment. On the other hand, there are some stocks that got caught up in the meme stock trade that looks like solid long-term investments. And this is especially true now that there's been a massive correction in many high-growth stocks.

A massive opportunity and a great strategy

Offerpad(NYSE:OPAD) is a real estate company that is a so-called iBuyer, or instant buyer, of homes. Offerpad's core business involves buying homes directly from sellers, doing cosmetic repairs, and then selling them directly to buyers, hopefully earning a profit in the process.

However, there are a couple of things that set Offerpad apart from its peer group (which really only consists of two other companies). For one thing, Offerpad is the only iBuyer that is more focused on efficiency than all-out growth. Its unit economics have been better than those of its peers, and while it won't be consistently profitable for some time, it isn't that far from it right now.

Second, Offerpad isn't necessarily trying to completely replace open-market home sales. Its Offerpad Flex product encourages customers to list their home on the open market (with an Offerpad partner agent) and gives them a cash offer to keep in their back pocket in the event they get tired of the traditional sale process.

Offerpad went a bit meme-stockish after its late 2021 special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger was completed, at one point rocketing to nearly $21 from its $10 pre-SPAC valuation. Now that the SPAC boom has cooled, Offerpad has plunged to less than $6, in line with many other recent SPAC targets. But make no mistake -- this is a real business with a huge market opportunity.

Tons of disruptive potential

One of the most discussed stocks in some of the most popular trader chat rooms in 2021, SoFi, went public through a Chamath Palihapitiya-backed SPAC last year (this was "IPOE" for those who follow Palihapitiya). It started out as a private student loan company but has since evolved into a financial ecosystem, complete with a full lineup of lending products, a credit card, a bank account, a brokerage account, and more. The company also owns the Galileo financial services API and payments platform, which provides functionality for 89 million financial accounts operated by partners.

To say SoFi's growth has been phenomenal would be an understatement. Thefintech'suser base has nearly doubled over the past year to more than 2.9 million members, and these users account for roughly 4.3 million different financial products. And it's on the non-lending side of the business where the growth has been especially impressive, with a 179% year-over-year increase in products as of the third quarter of 2021.

SoFi has the capability to be a true disruptor of the traditional bank model and is making all the right moves to scale its business in a sustainable way. With shares down 36% in the last two months, now could be a great time to add it at a discount.

The most exciting growth is yet to come

Last but certainly not least, insurance disruptor Lemonade has been a big victim of the recent growth stock headwinds, with shares down by about 35% in the past couple of months and a total of 80% off their all-time high.

Lemonade is aninsurance technology company, aiming to provide a better way to get insurance quotes, buy policies, and submit claims. In the company's core business of renters and homeowners insurance, customer feedback has been incredibly strong.

However, it's the rollout of Lemonade Car, the company's much-anticipated auto insurance product -- along with the pending acquisition of Metromile(NASDAQ:MILE)-- where Lemonade could accelerate the availability of the product and rapidly scale the business. If the company can replicate its early insurance success in the auto space, and can keep loss ratios in check, Lemonade could be a big winner for patient investors.

Remember what you're buying

To be sure, these three stocks are real businesses with great long-term growth opportunities. However, it's important to keep in mind that while the "meme stock" craze has died down, that doesn't mean it has permanently gone away. And if it comes back, all three of these stocks are likely to experience quite a roller coaster ride. But Me","content":"
The Food and Drug Administration authorized Merck's (MRK) antiviral Covid pill, molnupiravir. But Merck stock remains under pressure.
\n
The FDA authorized the Ridgeback Biotherapeutics-partnered pill for emergency use when other options aren't available or appropriate.Pfizer(PFE) also gained authorization for its two-pill regimen, Paxlovid. Paxlovid proved more effective in clinical testing. Further, molnupiravir carries a cancer risk and could lead to birth defects in unborn children.
\n
Merck's molnupiravir cut the risk of Covid-related hospitalizations or death by 30% when patients began treatment within five days of symptoms appearing. Paxlovid reduced the same risk by 89% for patients who began treatment within three days of symptom onset.
\n
Merck stock is well off highs it achieved in November. Bullishly, the company beat third-quarter expectations and offered an upbeat 2021 outlook that didn't include the potential impact of the antiviral pill. Molnupiravir is also allowed in the U.K. and Japan.
\n
Merck expects to produce 10 million courses of molnupiravir this year and at least 20 million in 2022. It has supply agreements in place with more than 30 countries worldwide, including the U.S.
\n
So, all in all, is Merck stock a buy or a sell right now?
\n
Merck Stock Fundamentals: Sales Top
\n
During the third quarter, adjusted earnings climbed 28% to $1.75 per share and sales soared 20% to $13.15 billion. Both metrics beat forecasts.
\n
Merck also provided guidance following its Organon(OGN) spinoff. The pharma company boosted its full-year outlook to adjusted profit of $5.65-$5.70 per share on $47.4 billion to $47.9 billion in sales. Both measures topped expectations. And they don't include the potential for molnupiravir to gain authorizations in the U.S. or Europe.
\n
The company's biggest single drug remains cancer treatment Keytruda. Keytruda accounted for more than a third of total third-quarter sales. Keytruda sales increased 22% to $4.53 billion. Merck stock broke out of a flat base with abuy point at 79.33 on Oct. 1, according to MarketSmith.com. But shares fell as much as 7% below their entry on Nov. 30. That triggered a sell signal. Investors are encouraged to sell when a stock is 7%-8% below its entry.
\n
Merck stock also recently undercut its 50-day and 200-day moving averages. But Merck stock remains under pressure.\nThe FDA authorized the Ridgeback Biotherapeutics-partnered pill for emergency use when other options aren't available or appropriate.Pfizer(PFE) also gained authorization for its two-pill regimen, Paxlovid. Paxlovid proved more effective in clinical testing. Further, molnupiravir carries a cancer risk and could lead to birth defects in unborn children.\nMerck's molnupiravir cut the risk of Covid-related hospitalizations or death by 30% when patients began treatment within five days of symptoms appearing. Paxlovid reduced the same risk by 89% for patients who began treatment within three days of symptom onset.\nMerck stock is well off highs it achieved in November. Bullishly, the company beat third-quarter expectations and offered an upbeat 2021 outlook that didn't include the potential impact of the antiviral pill. Molnupiravir is also allowed in the U.K. and Japan.\nMerck expects to produce 10 million courses of molnupiravir this year and at least 20 million in 2022. Both metrics beat forecasts.\nMerck also provided guidance following its Organon(OGN) spinoff. The pharma company boosted its full-year outlook to adjusted profit of $5.65-$5.70 per share on $47.4 billion to $47.9 billion in sales. Both measures topped expectations. And they don't include the potential for molnupiravir to gain authorizations in the U.S. or Europe.\nThe company's biggest single drug remains cancer treatment Keytruda. Keytruda accounted for more than a third of total third-quarter sales. Keytruda sales increased 22% to $4.53 billion. Sales of its human papillomavirus vaccine, Gardasil, soared 68% to $1.99 billion.\nBut revenue from diabetes med Januvia fell 1% to $1.34 billion. This year, that Santa Claus Rally window is set to start on Monday, Dec. 27 — or the latest a Santa Claus rally has started in 11 years, due to the timing of the holidays this year.
\n
According to data from LPL Financial, the Santa Claus Rally period encapsulates the seven days most likely to be higher in any given year. Since 1950, the Santa Claus Rally period has produced a positive return for the S&P 500 78.9% of the time, with an average return of 1.33%.
\n
“Why are these seven days so strong?” wrote Ryan Detrick, LPL Financial chief market strategist, in a note. “Whether optimism over a coming new year, holiday spending, traders on vacation, institutions squaring up their books — or the holiday spirit — the bottom line is that bulls tend to believe in Santa.”
\n
And if history is any indication, the absence of a Santa Claus Rally has also typically served as a harbinger of lower near-term returns.
\n
\"Going back to the mid-1990s, there have been only six times Santa failed to show in December. January was lower five of those six times, and the full year had a solid gain only once (in 2016, but a mini-bear market early in the year),\" Detrick added.
\n
“Considering the bear markets of 2000 and 2008 both took place after one of the rare instances that Santa failed to show makes believers out of us,\" he said. A bear market typically refers to when stocks drop at least 20% from recent record highs. \"Should this seasonally strong period miss the mark, it could be a warning sign.\"
\n
And this year, investors do have considerable additional concerns to mull heading into the new year. Though stocks closed out Thursday's session at fresh record highs before the long holiday weekend, December still marked a volatile month to start, with renewed concerns over the Omicron variant and the potential for tighter monetary policy from the Federal Reserve weighing on risk assets. Plus, prospects for more near-term fiscal support via the Biden administration's Build Back Better bill have dwindled, and inflation concerns spiked further. Last week, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) — the Fed's preferred inflation gauge — rose at a 4.7% year-over-year clip, or the fastest since 1983.
\n
\"If the U.S. was not battling the Omicron variant, U.S. stocks would be dancing higher as the Santa Claus Rally would have kept the climb going into uncharted territory,\" Edward Moya, chief market strategist at OANDA, wrote in a note last week. \"It is too early to say for sure if we will get a Santa Claus Rally, but given all the short-term risks of Fed tightening, Chinese weakness, fiscal support uncertainty and COVID, Wall Street is not complaining.\"
\n
A man in a Santa Claus costume gestures on the floor at the closing bell of the Dow Industrial Average at the New York Stock Exchange on December 5, 2019 in New York. This year, that Santa Claus Rally window is set to start on Monday, Dec. 27 — or the latest a Santa Claus rally has started in 11 years, due to the timing of the holidays this year.\nAccording to data from LPL Financial, the Santa Claus Rally period encapsulates the seven days most likely to be higher in any given year. Since 1950, the Santa Claus Rally period has produced a positive return for the S&P 500 78.9% of the time, with an average return of 1.33%.\n“Why are these seven days so strong?” wrote Ryan Detrick, LPL Financial chief market strategist, in a note. “Whether optimism over a coming new year, holiday spending, traders on vacation, institutions squaring up their books — or the holiday spirit — the bottom line is that bulls tend to believe in Santa.”\nAnd if history is any indication, the absence of a Santa Claus Rally has also typically served as a harbinger of lower near-term returns.\n\"Going back to the mid-1990s, there have been only six times Santa failed to show in December. January was lower five of those six times, and the full year had a solid gain only once (in 2016, but a mini-bear market early in the year),\" Detrick added.\n“Considering the bear markets of 2000 and 2008 both took place after one of the rare instances that Santa failed to show makes believers out of us,\" he said. A bear market typically refers to when stocks drop at least 20% from recent record highs. \"Should this seasonally strong period miss the mark, it could be a warning sign.\"\nAnd this year, investors do have considerable additional concerns to mull heading into the new year. Last week, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) — the Fed's preferred inflation gauge — rose at a 4.7% year-over-year clip, or the fastest since 1983.\n\"If the U.S. was not battling the Omicron variant, U.S. stocks would be dancing higher as the Santa Claus Rally would have kept the climb going into uncharted territory,\" Edward Moya, chief market strategist at OANDA, wrote in a note last week. \"It is too early to say for sure if we will get a Santa Claus Rally, but given all the short-term risks of Fed tightening, Chinese weakness, fiscal support uncertainty and COVID, Wall Street is not complaining.\"\nA man in a Santa Claus costume gestures on the floor at the closing bell of the Dow Industrial Average at the New York Stock Exchange on December 5, 2019 in New York. exposure to meme stocks.\n
\n
A multipronged bet onAMC Entertainment HoldingsInc.AMC15.39%boomeranged this month on Mudrick Capital Management LP, the latest hedge fund to fall victim to swarming day traders.
\n
Mudrick’s flagship fund lost about 10% in just a few days as a jump in AMC’s stock price unexpectedly triggered changes in the value of derivatives the fund held as part of a complex trading strategy, people familiar with the matter said.
\n
The setback comes months after a group of traders organizing on social media helped send the price ofGameStopCorp.GME5.88%and other stocks soaring in January, well beyond many investors’ views of underlying fundamentals.
\n
The development prompted many hedge funds to slash their exposure to meme stocks. Mudrick Capital’s losses highlight how risky retaining significant exposure to such companies can be—even backfiring on a hedge-fund manager who was mostly in sync with the bullishness of individual investors.
\n
Jason Mudrick, the firm’s founder, had been trading AMC stock, options and bonds for months, surfing a surge of enthusiasm for the theater chain among individual investors. But he also sold call options, derivative contracts meant to hedge the fund’s exposure to AMC should the stock price founder. Those derivative contracts, which gave its buyers the right to buy AMC stock from Mudrick at roughly $40 in the future, ballooned into liabilities when a resurgence ofReddit-fueled buyingrecently pushed AMC’s stock to new records, the people said.
\n
As part of the broader AMC strategy, executives at Mudrick Capital were in talks with AMC to buy additional shares from the company in late May. On June 1, AMC disclosed that Mudrick Capital had agreed to buy $230.5 million of new stock directly from the company at $27.12 apiece, a premium over where it was then trading.
\n
Mudrick immediately sold the stock at a profit, a quick flip that was reported by Bloomberg News and that sparked backlash on social media.
\n
“Mudrick didn’t stab AMC in the back…They shot themselves in the foot,” read one post on Reddit’s Wall Street Bets forum on June 1. Other posts around that time referenced Mudrick as “losers,” “scum bags” and “a large waving pile of s—t with no future.” Members of the forum urged each other to buy and hold.
\n
Inside Mudrick, executives were growing apprehensive as the AMC rally gained steam. The firm’s risk committee met on the evening of June 1 after the stock closed at $32 and decided to exit all debt and derivative positions the following day.
\n
It was a day too late.
\n
AMC’s stock price blew past $40in a matter of hours June 2, hitting an intraday high of $72.62.Call option prices soaredamid a frenzy of trading that Mudrick Capital contributed to and, by the end of the week, the winning trade had turned into a bust, costing the fund hundreds of millions of dollars in losses. Mudrick Capital made a roughly 5% return on the debt it sold but after accounting for its options trade, the fund took a net loss of about 5.4% on AMC.
\n
Mr. Mudrick’s fund is still up about 12% for the year, one of the people said. Meanwhile, investors who bought AMC stock at the start of the year and held on have gained about 2000%.
\n
The impact of social media-fueled day traders has become a defining market development this year, costing top hedge funds billions of dollars in losses, sparking a congressional hearing anddrawing scrutinyfrom the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. More hedge funds now track individual investors’ sentiment on social media and pay greater attention to companies with smaller market values whose stock price may be more susceptible to the enthusiasms of individual investors.
\n
Mr. Mudrick specializes in distressed debt investing, often lending to troubled companies at high interest rates or swapping their existing debt for equity in bankruptcy court. Mudrick manages about $3.5 billion in investments firmwide and holds large, illiquid stakes in E-cigarette maker NJOY Holdings Inc. and satellite communications companyGlobalstarInc.from such exchanges. The flagship fund reported returns of about 17% annually from 2018 to 2020, according to data from HSBC Alternative Investment Group.
\n
But distressed investing opportunities have grownharder to findas easy money from the Federal Reserve has given even struggling companies open access to debt markets.
Sales of its human papillomavirus vaccine, Gardasil, soared 68% to $1.99 billion.
\n
But revenue from diabetes med Januvia fell 1% to $1.34 billion. And Merck reported a 26% decline for its pneumonia vaccine, Pneumovax 23, as Covid vaccines took priority in the U.S.
\n
Overall, third-quarter metrics were in line withCAN SLIM rules for investing, which advise investors to look for companies with recent quarterly growth of 20%-25%, or better.
\n
In the current quarter, analysts polled by FactSet expect Merck to earn $1.52 per share on $13.16 billion in sales. On a year-over-year basis, earnings would surge about 21% and sales would rise north of 5%.
\n
What Do Annual Metrics Say About Merck?
\n
As Dec. 27, Merck stock was down slightly for the year. Shares recently hit at least a three-decade high, but have since tumbled.
\n
Last year, Merck's sales grew 2.5% to $47.99 billion. That decelerated from 11% growth in 2019.
\n
For 2021, analysts expect sales to rise a fraction to $48.44 billion. Income is projected to inch 2.8% higher to $5.82 a share. That follows 14% growth in 2020.
\n
The stock ranks 6th by Composite Rating in the industry group of pharma companies. The 33-company Medical-Ethical Drugs group ranks No. 51 out of 197 groups tracked by Investor's Business Daily.
\n
Technical Analysis Of The Pharmaceutical Company
\n
Merck stock has a Composite Rating of 81 out of a best-possible 99. The CR is a measure of a stock's key growth metrics over the past 12 months. This puts Merck stock within the top 19% of all stocks, regardless of industry group.
\n
Shares also have a Relative Strength Rating of 57, reflecting the 12-month performance of Merck stock. This means the pharmaceutical stock ranks beneath the top one-third all stocks in terms of performance.
\n
It's also key to watch chart patterns.
Both are sell signals.
\n
Merck Stock News: Merck Grabs Covid Deal
\n
Merck's molnupiravir is now authorized in the U.S., U.K. and Japan.
\n
In addition to Merck and Pfizer,Atea Pharmaceuticals(AVIR) and Enanta Pharmaceuticals(ENTA) working on oral Covid drugs.Roche(RHHBY) recently pulled out of its deal with Atea for the Covid antiviral.
\n
Analysts say the pills could offer an easier route for non-hospitalized treatment of Covid than antibody drugs from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals(REGN),Eli Lilly(LLY) and Vir Biotechnology(VIR). Antibody drugs must be given by health care professionals.
\n
But there is some concern that the way molnupiravir works could introduce mutations into the DNA of an unborn baby. So, FDA advisors waffled on whether to recommend its use for pregnant women.
\n
Bearishly, the FDA placed a study testing an HIV prevention drug, islatravir, on clinical hold. Several patients showed decreased in key immune cells. Merck and Gilead Sciences(GILD) also decided to stop testing a regimen of islatravir and Gilead's lenacapavir in HIV patients.
\n
Merck also recently finished acquiring Acceleron.
\n
In early March, President Joe Biden announced Merck would helpJohnson & Johnson(JNJ) produce its Covid vaccine. Merck will receive $268.8 million from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to help expand facility space to do so.
\n
Is Merck Stock A Buy Now?
\n
Based on CAN SLIM rules for investing, no, Merck stock is not a buy right now. Shares have round-tripped their earlier breakout and have triggered several sell signals.
\n
There are further caveats. Both Merck's sales and earnings met CAN SLIM guidelines in the third quarter. Sales aren't expected to meet that mark in the current quarter.
\n
Still, big stocks like Merck can add gains without hitting massive growth streaks.
","source":"lsy1610449120050","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Is Merck Stock A Buy Or Sell After FDA Authorizes Its Covid Pill?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nIs Merck Stock A Buy Or Sell After FDA Authorizes Its Covid Pill?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-12-28 08:47 GMT+8 Investors\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The Food and Drug Administration authorized Merck's (MRK) antiviral Covid pill, molnupiravir. And Merck reported a 26% decline for its pneumonia vaccine, Pneumovax 23, as Covid vaccines took priority in the U.S.\nOverall, third-quarter metrics were in line withCAN SLIM rules for investing, which advise investors to look for companies with recent quarterly growth of 20%-25%, or better.\nIn the current quarter, analysts polled by FactSet expect Merck to earn $1.52 per share on $13.16 billion in sales. On a year-over-year basis, earnings would surge about 21% and sales would rise north of 5%.\nWhat Do Annual Metrics Say About Merck?\nAs Dec. 27, Merck stock was down slightly for the year. Shares recently hit at least a three-decade high, but have since tumbled.\nLast year, Merck's sales grew 2.5% to $47.99 billion. That decelerated from 11% growth in 2019.\nFor 2021, analysts expect sales to rise a fraction to $48.44 billion. Income is projected to inch 2.8% higher to $5.82 a share. That follows 14% growth in 2020.\nThe stock ranks 6th by Composite Rating in the industry group of pharma companies. The 33-company Medical-Ethical Drugs group ranks No. 51 out of 197 groups tracked by Investor's Business Daily.\nTechnical Analysis Of The Pharmaceutical Company\nMerck stock has a Composite Rating of 81 out of a best-possible 99. The CR is a measure of a stock's key growth metrics over the past 12 months. This puts Merck stock within the top 19% of all stocks, regardless of industry group.\nShares also have a Relative Strength Rating of 57, reflecting the 12-month performance of Merck stock. This means the pharmaceutical stock ranks beneath the top one-third all stocks in terms of performance.\nIt's also key to watch chart patterns. Merck stock broke out of a flat base with abuy point at 79.33 on Oct. 1, according to MarketSmith.com. But shares fell as much as 7% below their entry on Nov. 30. That triggered a sell signal. Investors are encouraged to sell when a stock is 7%-8% below its entry.\nMerck stock also recently undercut its 50-day and 200-day moving averages. Both are sell signals.\nMerck Stock News: Merck Grabs Covid Deal\nMerck's molnupiravir is now authorized in the U.S., U.K. and Japan.\nIn addition to Merck and Pfizer,Atea Pharmaceuticals(AVIR) and Enanta Pharmaceuticals(ENTA) working on oral Covid drugs.Roche(RHHBY) recently pulled out of its deal with Atea for the Covid antiviral.\nAnalysts say the pills could offer an easier route for non-hospitalized treatment of Covid than antibody drugs from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals(REGN),Eli Lilly(LLY) and Vir Biotechnology(VIR). Antibody drugs must be given by health care professionals.\nBut there is some concern that the way molnupiravir works could introduce mutations into the DNA of an unborn baby. So, FDA advisors waffled on whether to recommend its use for pregnant women.\nBearishly, the FDA placed a study testing an HIV prevention drug, islatravir, on clinical hold. Several patients showed decreased in key immune cells. Merck and Gilead Sciences(GILD) also decided to stop testing a regimen of islatravir and Gilead's lenacapavir in HIV patients.\nMerck also recently finished acquiring Acceleron.\nIn early March, President Joe Biden announced Merck would helpJohnson & Johnson(JNJ) produce its Covid vaccine. Merck will receive $268.8 million from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to help expand facility space to do so.\nIs Merck Stock A Buy Now?\nBased on CAN SLIM rules for investing, no, Merck stock is not a buy right now. Shares have round-tripped their earlier breakout and have triggered several sell signals.\nThere are further caveats. Both Merck's sales and earnings met CAN SLIM guidelines in the third quarter. Sales aren't expected to meet that mark in the current quarter.\nStill, big stocks like Merck can add gains without hitting massive growth streaks.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2168,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":698106756,"gmtCreate":1640312839363,"gmtModify":1640313787557,"author":{"id":"3586129577058331","authorId":"3586129577058331","name":"1a327e37","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586129577058331","authorIdStr":"3586129577058331"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/698106756","repostId":"1168865278","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1168865278","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1640311666,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1168865278?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-12-24 10:07","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Can Apple Stock Hit New Highs by Year's End?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1168865278","media":"TheStreet","summary":"Apple stock is higher on Thursday and could try to make a push to records before the end of the year","content":"
Apple stock is higher on Thursday and could try to make a push to records before the end of the year.
\n
Apple shares earlier this month were a market leader, but over the past few trading sessions, they've wobbled.
\n
As the overall market continued to sway with volatility, Apple was a beacon of strength.

And this is especially true now that there's been a massive correction in many high-growth stocks.A massive opportunity and a great strategyOfferpad(NYSE:OPAD) is a real estate company that is a so-called iBuyer, or instant buyer, of homes. Its unit economics have been better than those of its peers, and while it won't be consistently profitable for some time, it isn't that far from it right now.Second, Offerpad isn't necessarily trying to completely replace open-market home sales. Its Offerpad Flex product encourages customers to list their home on the open market (with an Offerpad partner agent) and gives them a cash offer to keep in their back pocket in the event they get tired of the traditional sale process.Offerpad went a bit meme-stockish after its late 2021 special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger was completed, at one point rocketing to nearly $21 from its $10 pre-SPAC valuation. Now that the SPAC boom has cooled, Offerpad has plunged to less than $6, in line with many other recent SPAC targets. But make no mistake -- this is a real business with a huge market opportunity.Tons of disruptive potentialOne of the most discussed stocks in some of the most popular trader chat rooms in 2021, SoFi, went public through a Chamath Palihapitiya-backed SPAC last year (this was \"IPOE\" for those who follow Palihapitiya). And it's on the non-lending side of the business where the growth has been especially impressive, with a 179% year-over-year increase in products as of the third quarter of 2021.SoFi has the capability to be a true disruptor of the traditional bank model and is making all the right moves to scale its business in a sustainable way. With shares down 36% in the last two months, now could be a great time to add it at a discount. The most exciting growth is yet to comeLast but certainly not least, insurance disruptor Lemonade has been a big victim of the recent growth stock headwinds, with shares down by about 35% in the past couple of months and a total of 80% off their all-time high.Lemonade is aninsurance technology company, aiming to provide a better way to get insurance quotes, buy policies, and submit claims. If the company can replicate its early insurance success in the auto space, and can keep loss ratios in check, Lemonade could be a big winner for patient investors.Remember what you're buyingTo be sure, these three stocks are real businesses with great long-term growth opportunities. However, it's important to keep in mind that while the \"meme stock\" craze has died down, that doesn't mean it has permanently gone away. And if it comes back, all three of these stocks are likely to experience quite a roller coaster ride. Before you add any of these to your portfolio, it's important to be prepared for that possibility.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1197,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":607004893,"gmtCreate":1639452342052,"gmtModify":1639452342206,"author":{"id":"3586129577058331","authorId":"3586129577058331","name":"1a327e37","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586129577058331","authorIdStr":"3586129577058331"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/607004893","repostId":"1174096078","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":572,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":114059740,"gmtCreate":1623037757780,"gmtModify":1631883954563,"author":{"id":"3586129577058331","authorId":"3586129577058331","name":"1a327e37","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586129577058331","authorIdStr":"3586129577058331"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Best","listText":"Best","text":"Best","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/114059740","repostId":"2141282721","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":275,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":693947302,"gmtCreate":1639965038003,"gmtModify":1639965417989,"author":{"id":"3586129577058331","authorId":"3586129577058331","name":"1a327e37","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586129577058331","authorIdStr":"3586129577058331"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"K","listText":"K","text":"K","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/693947302","repostId":"2192096049","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1406,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":699757555,"gmtCreate":1639909859095,"gmtModify":1639909859267,"author":{"id":"3586129577058331","authorId":"3586129577058331","name":"1a327e37","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586129577058331","authorIdStr":"3586129577058331"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"K","listText":"K","text":"K","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/699757555","repostId":"2192976991","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2192976991","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1639880228,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2192976991?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-12-19 10:17","market":"us","language":"en","title":"5 Top-Ranked Dividend Growth Stocks for 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2192976991","media":"Zacks","summary":"As volatility and uncertainty continue to threaten the bull market going into the New Year, dividend","content":"
As volatility and uncertainty continue to threaten the bull market going into the New Year, dividend investing seems to be a better bet.
